I voli delle farfalle: walking immersed in a big biodiversity

The Sentiero della farfalle (The path of butterflies), also known with the name Santuario delle Farfalle, it’s one of the most suggestive paths of Elba Island. It’s about 2 kilometers long and it twists and turns through Perone mount and Maolo mount, 700 meters above the sea level. A place like this should be seen. And the right occasion to do it is the 2015 edition of I Voli delle Farfalle.

The event will be held on 1st October 2015, starting at 2pm from Poggio, a hamlet of Marciana, in Elba Island. The meeting point is the equipped area of Perone mount. The Sentiero delle Farfalle is really easy, the excursions lasts about 2 hours and it’s apt for everyone. Participants will be accompanied by an expert guide.

You can discover a part of Elba Island characterized by a big biodiversity: along the Sentiero delle Farfalle there are pinewoods, Pratelli del Crinale and Calanche hills. In particular, in the wood of the Mediterranean maquis you can found the beautiful larva of Jason.
