- First dish – The penne by boat from the island of Elba is a typical recipe, invented by a cook Elbano Benassi of Portoferraio. - Second dish- The octopus of Elba Island is a very simple recipe, but, as tradition wants, the simplest dishes are also the most good. The ingredients are the octopus and the chilli. The secret of a tasty dish is the raw material combined with a skillful preparation. Descends octopus in the water with hot peppers, making cook for about half an hour. Allow it to rest in its cooking water for about twenty more minutes. A Portoferraio octopus uses the fork, you eat well, naturally, without adding any other seasoning. - Cake – The chestnut pudding is a delicious cake, the ingredients are: chestnuts, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, alchermes and rum. To prepare it you have to roast chestnuts, peel and boil in milk and vanilla. They are passed and added to the eggs, sugar, alchermes and rum, until mixture is thick that will go in the oven, and served after a few hours.
