Do you dream of Tuscany for your next vacation but you still don’t know where to go to the beach? Right there, just a little bit off the coast, there is an island that every year attracts thousands of visitors thanks to its beaches. This place is called Elba island.
Our tips
- The most beautiful beaches. In the picture there is the Padulella, one of the most beautiful beaches of Elba island, with a charming sea. One but certainly not the only one. There are at least nine others, like the Ghiaie and Capo Bianco, which will allow you to discover a sea that is simply unforgettable: we advise you to see them all.
- Dog beaches. There is no holiday for you if you don’t have your beloved friend with you. And why should he deprive himself of the pleasure of being on the beach with his owners? The main dog beaches of Elba Island are Mola, Fonza, Marciana Marina and Schiopparello. Before leaving always inquire at the town where you will be staying.
- Children’s beaches. Long, sandy, with shallow water for many meters, equipped with all the facilities you could wish for: these are the children’s beaches on Elba island. They are almost all located near the main population centers of the island, such as Portoferraio and Capoliveri. Don’t forget the beach of Marina di Campo.
- White beaches. Honestly, it is the dream of all vacationers who are looking only for sea and relaxation to restore themselves after a year of stress and hardship. The white beaches on Elba Island are numerous, some are large and crowded, others are small and less accessible. Some recommended places are Fetovaia, Lacona, Innamorata, Laconella.
How to get
Ferries to Elba island leave from the port of Piombino, in the central part of the coast of Tuscany. The port of Piombino can be easily reached by car, train and bus, while the nearest airport is Pisa, which is about an hour and a half drive away.
Where to stay
The best solution is to stay in Portoferraio, the main town on the island. From here, in fact, you can easily reach all the beaches that we have proposed. But accept one last tip: board a car on the ferry, so you can move in total freedom.
