San Gaetano’s feast Elba 2015: devotion, folklore and traditions

He’s the patron of this town on the south coast of Elba island, which is a famous tourist destination thanks to its beaches and its sea, but also gives a touch of devotion, folklore and tradition. This during the San Gaetano’s feast 2015, that will be on August 7 in Marina di Campo.
The program of San Gaetano’s feast 2015:
- 6pm – Following the dictations of the tradition (it is mostly a religious event), the solemn Mass will be celebrated.
- 9pm – It’s the time when the procession starts, both in the sea and the road. The entire path will be accompanied by the notes of the Filarmonica Verdi of Capoliveri.
- Midnight – Here it starts the most awaited moment of the feast: the fireworks and musical show along the seashore of Marina di Campo.
How to reach
Starting from Portoferraio, the biggest town on Elba island, reach Marina di Campo is very easy: take the provincial road 25 to Campo nell’Elba towards the south, and then follow the road signs to Marina di Campo.
