Spend a holiday in autumn on Elba Island also means to discover the typical dishes and the culinary traditions. If you are on this beautiful island on October 28th and 29th, from Elba you can easily reach Capraia. Where, in these two days, the 2017 edition of the Sagra del totano (literally, “squid festival”) will take place.
The Sagra del totano di Capraia will be divided into two parts:
- The fishing competition. On October 28th, at 4:30pm, the fishing competition will begin. The competition will include two categories: shore fishing and sea fishing. The competition will end at 7:30pm and the awards will be scheduled for the next day.
- The festival. On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th, at 12.30pm, at the port, in the stands set by the restaurants of Capraia Island, you will taste dishes prepared with squids and other typical specialties of the Tuscan archipelago.
Sports and culinary specialties. But this two-day event still has much to offer. Because Capraia is famous for its beaches, the beautiful sea that surrounds it, and its uncontaminated nature: the combination of these three elements will give you views that you will not forget so easily.
