Driver or enthusiasts? For you, there is the Rally Elba

From May 4^th to 6^th, 2017. To be precise, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And if you are real rally enthusiasts, or if you plan to participate in this highly anticipated race, then these are the three days for you. When will take place the new edition of the Rally Elba.

The rally

If you want to test your skills, registration will be open from April 5^th (8am) to May 1^st (6pm). If you just want to watch an exciting race, the starting point (May 5^th, 5pm) and the arrival point (May 6^th, 3pm) are in Piazza Cavour, Portoferraio.

In between, there will be national and international drivers who will compete on the winding streets and dirt roads of the island. With a special feature that will make it even more exciting: some parts of the race will take place on roads that will give you unforgettable views of the sea that surrounds the island.

Portoferraio

Portoferraio, the main town on the island (and one of the most important ports where ferries to Elba Island dock), will be the starting point and end of the race. Among stunning swerves and accelerations, don’t forget:

• That the things to see in Portoferraio are really several, such as fortezze medicee (ancient fortresses), the home of Napoleon, the villa romana delle Grotte (a Roman villa).
• And that the beaches of Portoferraio are among the most beautiful of the whole island, such as Sansone, Padulella and Capo Bianco.

Have you still a bit ‘of time available for this trip? Well, the holiday is certainly not over because, not far from Portoferraio, there are still several other places to see, such as Capoliveri (on the southern coast) and Porto Azzurro (on the east coast).
