Notte azzurra 2016: spending a day among sea, culinary specialties and music

Sea. Culinary specialties. Music. Activities for children. There’s all you may need to spend a very pleasant day with your friends, with your better half and/or with your kids. This is the Notte azzurra 2016 (literally, “the blue night”), which will take place in Porto Azzurro on August 20th.
Before the event
- Porto Azzurro is famous, especially, for its wonderful beaches, such as Terranera and Pianotta. Choose your favourite one and enjoy sea, sun and relaxation.
- The Carmignani walk is the promenade from Porto Azzurro to Barbarossa beach (one of the most lively beach on Elba Island), two kilometers between the scents of the sea and of the Mediterranean scrub.
From 6:30pm, several stands will be set up in piazza Matteotti (the main square of Porto Azzurro) and in banchina Matteotti, stands where you can find Elba typical products such as oil, honey and mushrooms.
At 7:30pm, the Antani Orchestra will parade through the streets of Porto Azzurro, and this town will be enlivened by music and activities for children. Finally, at Midnight, the real Notte azzurra 2016 will begin.
How to get there
- From Portoferraio: take the county 26 and follow the road signs to Porto Azzurro; the journey by car takes about twenty minutes.
- From Rio Marina: take the county 26 and follow the road signs to Porto Azzurro; the journey by car takes about fifty minutes.
