Mayday 2015 Elba IslandThree more days of vacation, this time for May Day 2015. You have already chosen the location: the beautiful Elba Island. For what concern the things to do and places to see, here are four tips that are right for you, based on the type of holiday you want to experience.

Wellness

Nothing better than a three-day holiday dedicated exclusively to restore the spirit and the body. If that’s what you want, then Elba Island is the right place for you. There are spas in Portoferraio, where you benefit from a range of treatments.

There is the Napoleon’s source, famous because of its beneficial effects. And then there’s the nature of the island, where you can enjoy pleasant walks.

Beaches

One of the glories of this place. For May Day 2015 you could also take the first dip of the season in the sea. The beaches are not lacking, and they are all beautiful. Wanting to give some valuable advice, near Portoferraio there are Padulella, Forno, Ghiaie, cala dei Frati. Towards Capoliveri there are Laconella, Felciaio, baia di Vetrangoli.

Excursions

We’ve already mentioned that Elba Island can boast a lush nature all to explore. And the excursions tours are the best way to do it. From this point of view there are many possibilities available.

Wanting to give some advice, the best tours to do are five: monte Capanne, the nearby islands, the hermitages, the Great Elba crossing, the Western Ring.

Towns

The main towns on Elba Island are Capoliveri and Portoferraio. Among the main things to see in the first there are fort Focardo, Monte Calamita, Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie, and the aforementioned beaches. Portoferraio is the largest town on the island, famous (also) for the Medici’s fortress, the historical center, the dock, Napoleon’s house, the Roman villas.

For May Day 2015 in Elba Island you can choose among many possibilities. And then leave for your holiday.
