ElbAleatico: a day to discover all the flavor of Elba wines

Among the wines of Elba, there is one that is a symbol of the island: we are talking about Aleatico passito. A wine to which a special event is dedicated: ElbAleatico 2018, to be held on April 22^nd.

The event

ElbAleatico is the event, now in its eighth edition, dedicated to the wines of the Elba Doc Consortium and, in particular, to Aleatico, sweet dessert wine produced on Elba. It will be a great opportunity to get to know the most famous producers and wines.

How to get

ElbAleatico 2018 will take place at the Cultural Center De Laugier, which is located in Portoferraio (one of the main ports where ferries get to Elba), not far from the port, so in a central area and easily accessible on foot.

An idea for a weekend

Portoferraio, as we said. Since April 22nd is Sunday, there are all the conditions to spend a more than pleasant weekend on Elba island. Following this itinerary:

• Friday 20^th. We suggest you arrive in the morning, so you have all the first day available to visit Portoferraio and begin to discover its most beautiful places, such as the historic center and the house of Napoleon.
• Saturday 21^st. Embark a car on the ferry and reach Procchio, at a short distance from Portoferraio. Here, in fact, the western ring of Elba island begins, which reaches up to Marina di Campo and will give you incomparable views of the sea.
• Sunday 22^nd. The third day will be entirely dedicated to ElbAleatico and, we have an advice that we sincerely recommend you follow, taste the typical culinary specialties of Elba.
