Nights of archeology: discovering Elba archeology

The island of Elba has always been present during the past editions of this event that celebrates its fifteenth birthday. The new edition of Notti dell’archeologia (“Nights of archeology”) 2015 will take place from July 1 to 31. This event involves museums, parks and archaeological areas that during the month of July will allow several visitors to discover the archaeological treasures of the island (and of Tuscany).

A place with an ancient and charming history

Elba Island it isn’t only beaches. This a place with an ancient and charming history, made by several populations and dominations. This history has left archeological treasures such as:

• Portoferraio Medici fortresses
• hermitages
• Ancient Rome mansions
• Etruscan findings

The event

Special openings and night openings of museums and parks, exhibitions, excursions, guided tours, archaeological trekking, conferences, concerts, theater performances, film screenings, tastings: Notti dell’archeologia is this. The event is organized every year by the Settore musei della Regione Toscana with Associazione musei archeologici della Toscana.
