Easter holidays 2015: a three days trip to Elba Island

On the occasion of Easter holidays 2015, you’d like making a journey to a place with a lot of things to do and places to see. What about Elba Island?
First day: Portoferraio – Portoferraio is the most important town on Elba Island. There are a lot of things to do and places to see here. Such as Napoleon’s home, Medici fortresses, old town centre, seafront. And near Portoferraio there are some of the most beautiful beaches of Elba Island, such as spiaggia della Ghiaie and Padulella.
Second day: Capoliveri – From Elba North coast to Elba South coast. Near Capoliveri the things to see are Forte Focardo (an ancient fortress), santuario della Madonna delle Grazie (a sanctuary), Calamita mountain, and the beaches of course, such as Innamorata, Lacona, Naregno, Margidore.
Third day: an excursion – You will spend the last day of Easter holidays 2015 doing one of the several excursions on Elba Island. In particular, the recommended excursions are:
- Anello occidentale
- monte Capanne
- Grotta Azzurra
In the evening – Day-time you will discover the nature and the cities of Elba. In the evening you can choose among discos, pubs, amusement parks, and various bars.
What to eat – During your Easter holidays 2015 on this island, you have to taste Elba typical recipes, such as stoccafisso alla riese (stockfish is cooked in a terracotta saucepan), gurguglione (vegetables cooked in a frying pan), schiaccia briaca (a sweet prepared with raisin, pine nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and a glass of Aleatico) and cacciucco (a fish soup) at least. You can taste these dishes in the several restaurants of Portoferraio and Capoliveri.
