Carnival Porto Azzurro Elba Island 2018

If, for you, holiday in winter is synonymous with Carnival, one of the most important events this season. You just need an idea with a nice event in the program and offering so many things to see. We have the solution for you: the 2018 edition of the Carnival of Porto Azzurro, on the island of Elba, to be held from 2 to 18 February.

The Carnival

Although the official program has not yet been communicated, the certainty is that the carnival 2018 in Porto Azzurro will present all the ingredients that have made him famous: parades of allegorical floats, masked courses, activities for children, re-enactment of past editions of the event. In addition, there will be stands where you can find sweets and taste the typical dishes of the island of Elba.

Porto Azzurro

You are here to have fun on the occasion of the carnival but we suggest you to take some time also to visit Porto Azzurro. A city that really has so much to offer in terms of things to see. The places not to be missed are:

  • Piazza Matteotti;
  • Forte Longone;
  • Passeggiata Carmignani;
  • Pino di Monserrato;
  • Santuario della Madonna di Monserrato;
  • Forte Focardo.

If Porto Azzurro is one of the most beautiful places on the island of Elba, there is certainly a good reason (which you will discover following the itinerary we have just given).

How to arrive

To reach Porto Azzurro, it is advisable to arrive by ferry to Portoferraio, the main town and tourist port of the island. From here, you simply take the State Road 26 east and follow the signs to Porto Azzurro. The journey by car (which we advise you to embark on the ferry) lasts less than half an hour.
